Choice is London’s first online course prospectus for 14-19 year old Londoners. It is a searchable, up-to-date directory of the 25,000 courses and programmes that London’s 640 schools, colleges and work based training providers are offering.
Launched in March 2007 with strong support from Lord Adonis, the site provides impartial advice to young people, their parents and advisors on all the options available in schools, colleges and work places across the capital.
It encourages and supports learning, widens choice for young learners and enables professionals to monitor and develop learning choices and support.
The website has the potential to be used by up to half a million 14-19 year olds, and is fully integrated with London mapping and Transport for London to enable easy journey planning to course and training venues, including providing directions to the nearest tube, train and bus stations for each location.
Ongoing development of the site will offer an increasing amount of tools with which young people can assess, question, plan and manage their career progression. A whole range of new site features launches in April. Please register now for updates.
Now in its second year and in phase two of development (click the following link to view the Choice activity schedule ), there is a three year vision for Choice. You can view the vision document by clicking here .
Its governance structure ensures ongoing input of the 45 stakeholder members.
